I have always been fascinated by abandoned places. There is something alluring in the ruins and fading remains of places which are only desolate shells of their former heyday.

The Salton Bay Yacht Club was demolished in 2000. I never had a chance to see it, and based upon what remains, I can only assume the great building was returned to the sea responsible for it's creation. Nevertheless, this place, along with the other buildings and stories that weave the tragic history of the Salton Sea, continue to intrigue and fascinate me.
